CHICAGO — Chris LeBeau, assistant teaching professor/learning and research librarian at the University of Missouri, iSchool/University of Missouri-Kansas City, has been elected the 2017-2018 president of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA). Prior to working in her current position, LeBeau was the reference librarian and coordinator of electronic services at Creighton University.
LeBeau has been involved in ALA and RUSA for many years, holding a variety of positions, including past chair and committee member of the ALA Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS) Vendor Relations Committee for almost three years and past chair of ALA BRASS for six years. She also co-chaired RUSA Review and was an active team member and co-author of Financial Literacy Guidelines and Best Practices.
“I look forward to deeper involvement with RUSA and collaborating with so many dedicated RUSA members. RUSA has been a welcoming professional home for me for a long time,” LeBeau said.
LeBeau will become RUSA president-elect at the conclusion of the ALA 2016 Annual Conference this June and will assume the RUSA presidency in June 2017 for one year.
RUSA is the foremost organization of reference and information professionals who make the connections between people and the information sources, services, and collection materials they need. RUSA supports excellence in the delivery of general library services and materials, and the provision of reference advisory, and resource sharing for all ages, in every type of library.
